We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Consultant in Respiratory Medicine & General Internal Medicine to join a progressive multidisciplinary team providing high-quality acute and specialist respiratory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Deliver specialist respiratory services, including the management of asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, lung infections, pleural disease, and sleep-related breathing disorders.
- Contribute to the provision of bronchoscopy and other respiratory diagnostic services, where applicable.
- Deliver high-quality General Internal Medicine (GIM) care for acute and complex medical patients.
- Participate in the General Internal Medicine on-call rota.
- Work closely with specialist nurses, physiotherapists, radiologists, physiologists, and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Support service development, clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide teaching, training, and supervision to junior doctors, medical students, and allied health professionals.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of respiratory and integrated care pathways.
Requirements
- Specialist registration (or eligibility for specialist registration) in Respiratory Medicine and Internal Medicine.
- Strong experience in both Respiratory Medicine and General Internal Medicine.
- Experience in respiratory diagnostics and procedures is desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Commitment to patient-centred care, education, and continuous service improvement.

- The current Consultant salary scale ranges from €238,221 to €286,151 for a 37-hour week, with any additional work paid separately.
