We are seeking an ambitious and patient-focused Consultant Physician in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality specialist and general medical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Deliver specialist diabetes care, including the management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, diabetes technologies, and complex diabetic complications.
- Manage a broad range of endocrine conditions, including thyroid disorders, adrenal disease, pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, metabolic bone disease, and reproductive endocrinology conditions.
- Work closely with diabetes specialist nurses, dietitians, podiatrists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated patient care.
- Participate in the General Internal Medicine (GIM) on-call rota, where applicable.
- Contribute to the development of diabetes and endocrinology services, including integrated and community-based care pathways.
- Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
- Provide teaching, training, and supervision to junior doctors, medical students, and multidisciplinary team members.
Requirements
- Specialist registration (or eligibility for specialist registration) in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus.
- Strong experience in managing a broad range of endocrine and diabetes-related conditions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, education, and continuous service improvement.
- Interest in service development, innovation, and integrated care models.

- The current Consultant salary scale ranges from €238,221 to €286,151 for a 37-hour week, with any additional work paid separately.
