Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive women’s health services across both obstetrics and gynaecology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality obstetric and gynaecological care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Manage low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, antenatal care, labour ward services, and postnatal care.
  • Deliver a broad range of general gynaecology services, including outpatient assessment, surgical management, and emergency gynaecology care.
  • Participate in labour ward, obstetric emergency, and consultant on-call services.
  • Work closely with midwives, neonatologists, anaesthesiologists, radiologists, specialist nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Contribute to the development of women’s health services, clinical pathways, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in clinical governance, audit, risk management, and patient safety programmes.
  • Provide teaching, training, and supervision to junior doctors, medical students, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Support service innovation and the ongoing enhancement of maternity and gynaecology services.

Requirements

  • Specialist registration (or eligibility for specialist registration) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • Experience managing a broad range of obstetric and gynaecological conditions.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork and patient-centred care.
  • Interest in teaching, research, service development, and continuous quality improvement.

What We Offer

  • The current Consultant salary scale ranges from €238,221 to €286,151 for a 37-hour week, with any additional work paid separately.
