We are seeking a Clinical Director to lead and support the delivery of high-quality care within an Approved Centre. The successful candidate will join a dynamic multidisciplinary team, which includes Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Behaviour Specialists, Dietitians, Psychotherapists, and others, all working collaboratively across residential and supported living services for individuals with complex support needs.

Key Objectives
-
Provide clinical leadership in the delivery of care to patients within the Approved Centre.
-
Promote patient involvement in care planning and decision-making processes.
-
Support the design and implementation of strategic business initiatives.
-
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory policies and standards.
-
Oversee staffing requirements and operational management of patient care.
-
Conduct performance reviews and provide professional feedback.
-
Serve as an advocate for patient rights and welfare.
-
Contribute to clinical governance, service strategy, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
-
Take clinical responsibility for patients residing in the Approved Centre.

Ensure adherence to infection control and health & safety standards.
-
Support and lead multidisciplinary clinical teams.
-
Assist with nursing audits and the implementation of resulting action plans.

Provide support to cover clinical governance responsibilities across centres when required.
Qualifications
-
Full Registration (General and Specialist) with the Irish Medical Council.

Postgraduate qualification in medical education, clinical research, or management.
-
Evidence of contributions to education, research, audit, or service improvement.
Knowledge and Experience
-
Knowledge of relevant healthcare standards and legislation.
-
Senior leadership experience in a large healthcare organisation.
-
Experience preparing high-level documentation and board reports.
-
Experience in psychiatric practice, ideally across both Intellectual Disability and Forensic settings.
Skills
-
Strong clinical and diagnostic skills from a biopsychosocial perspective.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
-
Ability to manage workload and lead multidisciplinary teams.
-
Self-motivated with performance appraisal experience as a senior clinical leader.
