We are seeking a highly motivated and patient-focused Consultant Anaesthesiologist to join a busy multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive anaesthetic, perioperative, and critical care services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality anaesthetic care across a broad range of surgical specialties, including elective and emergency procedures.
- Deliver perioperative assessment, optimisation, and management of surgical patients.
- Participate in the provision of emergency anaesthesia, trauma care, and resuscitation services.
- Contribute to critical care, acute pain management, and perioperative medicine services, depending on departmental requirements.
- Participate in the consultant on-call rota.
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, intensivists, emergency medicine physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals.
- Support the development of patient safety, clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in teaching, training, and supervision of junior doctors, medical students, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Contribute to service planning and the ongoing development of anaesthesia and perioperative care services.
Requirements
- Specialist registration (or eligibility for specialist registration) in Anaesthesiology.
- Experience delivering anaesthetic care across a wide range of surgical specialties.
- Strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to patient safety, education, and continuous service improvement.

- The current Consultant salary scale ranges from €238,221 to €286,151 for a 37-hour week, with any additional work paid separately.
