Consultant Anaesthetist (SI Pain Management)

Job description

As a Consultant Anaesthesiologist with a special interest in Pain Medicine, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality anaesthetic services while leading and advancing pain management strategies within the hospital. This position offers a mix of perioperative anaesthesia care and dedicated pain management services, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert anaesthetic care for a variety of surgical procedures.
• Lead and develop pain management services within the hospital.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic pain conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals, to implement comprehensive pain management plans.
• Contribute to the education and training of junior doctors, anaesthetic trainees, and other healthcare staff.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Specialist registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
• Completion of Specialist Training in Anaesthesiology and possession of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent.
• Fellowship in Pain Medicine (or equivalent qualifications/experience in pain management)
• A minimum of 5 years of post-registration experience in Anaesthesiology.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• A strong commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
