We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Senior House Officer (SHO) in Internal Medicine to join a dynamic and supportive medical team. This role offers excellent training opportunities for doctors looking to gain experience in a broad range of medical specialties while working under the supervision of Registrars and Consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with acute and chronic medical conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Ward Rounds: Participate in daily ward rounds with senior medical staff, ensuring timely documentation and implementation of treatment plans.
- Emergency Response: Assist in the management of medical emergencies, including acute deteriorations, cardiac arrests, and sepsis cases.
- Procedures: Gain experience in performing medical procedures such as venepuncture, cannulation, lumbar punctures, and central line insertions under supervision.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and specialty teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Patient Communication: Provide clear explanations to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Continuous Learning: Engage in departmental teaching, case discussions, and clinical audits to enhance knowledge and contribute to quality improvement.
Requirements:
- Medical Qualifications: MB BCh BAO or equivalent medical degree.
- Registration: Eligible for registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
- Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years post-internship experience, with prior exposure to Internal Medicine preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical acumen, excellent teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary: €53,666 – €73,399 per year + On-call allowances.
