Patient Management: Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions under consultant supervision.

Ward Rounds: Lead and participate in daily ward rounds, reviewing patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

On-Call Duties: Provide on-call services, managing medical emergencies and ensuring continuity of care.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with nursing staff, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with hospital policies.

Training and Supervision: Mentor and supervise junior medical staff, fostering a learning environment.
Essential Qualifications

Medical Degree: Recognised medical qualification.

IMC Registration: Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).

Postgraduate Experience: Typically, a minimum of 3 years’ postgraduate experience, with significant exposure to internal medicine.

English Proficiency: For non-native speakers, proficiency demonstrated through IELTS (overall band 7, not less than 6.5 in each domain) or OET (Grade B overall).

Certifications: Completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is often required.

Desirable: Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCP) or equivalent is advantageous.
Locum Doctors in Ireland must hold a Stamp 1G or Stamp 4 visa.
