Paediatric Endocrinology Consultant

About the Role
The UL Hospitals Group is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist to join our expanding paediatric service in Limerick. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic, patient-focused team serving children and families across the Mid-West region.

The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering specialist endocrine care, supporting service development, and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of paediatric services within the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical care for children and adolescents with endocrine and metabolic disorders, including diabetes.

  • Deliver outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and participate in the paediatric on-call rota as required.

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary colleagues including paediatricians, diabetes nurse specialists, dietitians, psychologists, and allied health professionals.

  • Engage in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Contribute to the teaching and supervision of NCHDs, medical students, and other trainees.

  • Participate in relevant research opportunities within the UL Hospitals Group and affiliated academic partners.

Essential Requirements

  • Completion of specialist training in Paediatrics with recognised subspecialty training in Paediatric Endocrinology.

  • Registration (or eligibility for Specialist Registration) with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).

  • Strong clinical expertise in the management of paediatric endocrine conditions.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.

  • A commitment to high-quality, family-centred care.
