Consultant in Paediatric Spinal Surgery – CHI Dublin

Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) Dublin is seeking a Consultant in Paediatric Spinal Surgery to join a leading tertiary paediatric spinal service. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex spinal conditions in children and contribute to a nationally recognised service.

Role:

• Provide expert surgical and clinical care for children with congenital, idiopathic, and neuromuscular spinal deformities.

• Lead preoperative assessment, operative planning, and postoperative management.

• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, and anaesthetists.

• Participate in the on-call rota for spinal emergencies.

• Contribute to service development, audit, teaching, and clinical research initiatives.

• Support national and regional referral networks for paediatric spinal care.

Requirements:

• Eligable for specialist registration with the Medical Council of Ireland.

• Subspecialist training and experience in paediatric spinal surgery.

• Fellowship in paediatric spinal.

Skills:

• Clinical expertise in complex paediatric spinal conditions and surgery.

• Leadership and multidisciplinary team collaboration.

• Strong communication, teaching, and research skills.

• Experience in service development, audit, and quality improvement.
